Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers, was born on July 8, 1989 in Paris. After relocating to Oxfordshire at the age of five, she enrolled in The Dragon School. Emma was only six when she decided she wanted to become an actress. She studied for a number of years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a Part-time theatre school located in Oxford in which she learned acting and singing. At the age of ten she was involved as the lead in numerous Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was first cast in 1999. Casting agents found Emma through her Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint following auditions for 8 times. They were chosen to play three leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's debut film came with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The highest-grossing movie of 2001 The film broke records for its debut day revenue as well as the opening weekend's earnings. Reviewers were awed by the movie and its performances. The Daily Telegraph, a widely read British paper, praised her for her outstanding performance. Later Emma was nominated for five prizes for her work in the film and was awarded the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress Young in a Feature Film.
